1879 Morgan NGC 63 Choice. Well struck. Pleasing surfaces. Rainbow toned. Out of a total mintage of 14.8 million, this Philadelphia issue is generally scarce near Gem or better.
1879CC Capped Die PCGS 63 Choice. Pleasing surfaces. The designation Capped Die indicates that the mintmark was re-punched utilizing two different sizes of CC into the die. 'Capped die' Morgan dollars occurred only in 1879 and only on CC mintmark coins. This coin is from the Colorado Collection.
