Q. Can I also bid by touchtone telephone? Yes, you can also bid using your same login and password by automated touchtone telephone. For more information about bidding by telephone, please click here. Q. What browser should I use to view the Teletrade® site? While we make every attempt to accommodate all browsers, Teletrade® works best with Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer, versions 3.0 or higher. Other browsers will function just fine, with some loss of formatting. Q. What speed modem is necessary for viewing the Teletrade® site? For reasonable response, especially when viewing coin images, we suggest a 14,400 baud or faster modem.
Q. Why do the pages seem to take a long time to load?
Q. How secure is the Teletrade® site?
The highest exposure risk is actually with your browser: If you fail to logout from the site and leave your computer, someone else can access the site and pose as you. This could result in violations ranging from retrieving your account information to bidding on lots using your identity. Please logout or quit all of your browser windows when you are done with our site. You can always quickly login again and resume where you left off. Q. How come the login page, and most other pages, are not in "Secure" mode? The login page itself is not secure. When you submit your name and password, they are securely sent to a secured confirmation page. Most other pages on this site are not secure. Once we know who you are, we no longer need secure mode, since we are not openly transmitting your user ID and password across the internet. Anybody hacking your internet connection may see what you are doing, but they won't know who you are. We have chosen NOT to secure our entire web site because this would slow access tremendously. Q. What is a Cookie and why does your site need them? Cookies are a greatly misunderstood mechanism of the web. They simply allow a web site to send your browser an ID code, so that when you view other pages from the same web site, the web site can tell it's still you. They do not release any private information about you. You alone would have to do that yourself, by typing information into a form and submitting it. Without cookies, a web site would not know you were still the same person as you moved from page to page. While this worked fine for when the web was just a place to retrieve documents, it doesn't work if you're trying to bid in an auction, keep a shopping cart, or otherwise interact with the user. The web site of Teletrade® uses cookies to remember your login information so you don't have to enter it on every registered-user page. We also use cookies to allow you to build a list of lots to track and keep some personal preferences. Additionally, cookies are used to track new users coming from banner ads, so that we can see which ads are producing results. Almost all browsers allow you to view all of the cookies you are keeping, and some allow you to selectively delete cookies that you don't want. This illustrates the non-threatening nature of cookies. There is nothing secret and nothing to hide. If you set your browser to reject cookies, you will be severely limiting your ability to interact with most web sites. Q. How do I receive information about other Teletrade® auctions? Select Bidding Info or Selling Info from the Main Home Page. From there you are able to access help topics related to all of our auction types.
Q. Why is Teletrade® a good place to buy and sell certified coins?
To summarize, the principles guiding Teletrade® are those of honesty,
fair dealing and customer responsiveness. They have worked for Teletrade®
since 1986 and they will continue to guide our actions in the future.
Q. How do I consign certified coins To Teletrade®?
Send any number of coins with a total minimum
value of $1,000 to Teletrade®'s Auction Center at 18061 Fitch, Irvine, CA 92614-6018.
Include a copy of our consignment form with your
coins. You can print a consignment form like
this one.
Q. What are Teletrade®'s consignment policies for certified coins?
You may consign to Teletrade® any coin certified and encapsulated
by ANACS, ICG, NGC, or PCGS. Our full consignment policies are available under Selling Info.
Q. If I sell a coin through Teletrade® what will it cost me?
Consignors are charged a seller's fee based on the price realized
at auction. The fee is calculated per lot according to the Teletrade®
Seller's Fee
Schedule.
Q. When will Teletrade® auction my consignment?
Teletrade® reserves the right to place coins in whichever auction it
feels is most appropriate. Coins from a single consignment may be
assigned to more than one auction. Under normal circumstances, coins
will be auctioned two to four weeks after we receive them.
Q. When will I get paid for my consignment?
Payment is mailed 36 days after the auction to consignors.
Q. Can I get a cash advance from Teletrade®?
Teletrade® offers "Fast Cash" advances to qualified consignors. We recognize
that consignors often require working capital to take advantage of
buying opportunities or want to receive anticipated sales proceeds
sooner. So, we have created a fast, trouble free program to meet these
needs.
Q. Can I place a reserve or a minimum on a coin I have consigned for auction?
Teletrade® does not place or execute minimums or reserves on behalf of
consignors. Consignors are permitted to bid on their own coins, but
they must do so by placing Buyback bids no later than one hour before
the auction begins (see Maximum Bidding instructions to enter your
Buyback bids). Consignors will be charged only the seller's fee based
on their full Buyback bid on any lots bought back in this manner. Please note: Consignors cannot place bids on their own lots during the auction.
Q. What if the buyer returns a lot from my consignment to Teletrade®?
If any coin is returned by a buyer it is usually offered in the
next available auction. However, Teletrade® reserves the right to return
it to the consignor within 36 days of the auction. Coins that are
returned three times are sent back to the consignor.
