Rarest Proof-70 One Ounce Gold Eagle to be Sold by Teletrade.
Teletrade® will be offering the rarest Proof-70 One Ounce Gold Eagle in their April 23, 2006 Premier Sale. This 1993-W example, graded a perfect Proof-70 DCAM by PCGS, has a population of only two pieces making it the lowest-pop issue in the entire proof One Ounce Gold Eagle series.
"The 1993-W One Ounce Gold Eagle in proof format has long frustrated the top Registry Set Collectors by preventing the formation of a perfect '70' set...until now", said Ian Russell, President of Teletrade®.

PCGS has certified only two examples of the 1993-W One Ounce Gold Eagle as Proof-70 DCAM, and the Teletrade® coin is appearing on the market for the first time. The other piece has yet to appear on the market, or in a PCGS Registry Set, leading some to speculate to its whereabouts. Teletrade® estimates that the 1993-W One Ounce Gold Eagle in their auction may bring in excess of $15,000, which would be a record auction price for the U.S. Gold Eagle series.
Teletrade® is the leader in the modern coin and Registry Set market, offering many top-of-the-pop rarities in their auctions. Recent record prices include $16,240 paid for a 1971-S Eisenhower Dollar in Proof-70 DCAM, $10,300 paid for a 1984-P $10 Gold Olympic Proof-70 DCAM and $7,840 that a winning bidder paid for the third rarest One Ounce Gold Eagle—the 2001-W in Proof-70 DCAM.
