The Binion variety and toned silver dollars were sold as part of our featured Saint Patrick's Day Rainbow Auction held March 17, 2002. These coins not only have dazzling provenance, eye appeal and interesting varieties, but also have been called by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation as "the greatest collection of silver dollars ever authenticated". Once the last Teletrade^® Binion auction finishes in 2002, there will be no other opportunity to purchase the Binion toned and variety silver dollars!

Although half a dozen Binion Toned Silver Dollars were offered in January 2002 in a Teletrade^® Premier Auction, and another 20 lots were in the February 24, 2002 Teletrade^® Premier Auction, the March 17 auction represented the true inaugural first offering of Teletrade^® Binion Rainbow Collection coins to be offered in large quantities.

Highlights and dates range from: 1883-O, 1884-O, 1878-S, 1879-S, 1881-S, 1885, 1886, 1887, 1888, 1922, and 1923, among others. Ranging in grade from BU to MS68*, these coins realized between $40 up to $10,000. Also for the first time, were offered group lots of Binion Toned Rainbow Coins from 3 coin lots up to 6 coin lots, which were popular among dealers and investors. All told, almost 400 lots containing 700 Binion toned coins were sold in this historic auction for some spectacular prices!
